A Photographic Journey

Portrait

Day 264: Little Miss Attitude

Day 263: Big Toothy Grin

Day 259: Unhappy

Day 255: Freckles

Day 250: Game Face

I’m still experimenting with using a single flash, and this is what you get when you ask for a game face from my ten-year-old. Actually, he gave a lot meaner face earlier, but this is what it looks like when he tones it down a bit.

Day 248: Last Swim of Summer

A-Train enjoying a last swim of summer, on Labor Day.

Day 247: Birthday Girl

My six-year-old birthday girl. Daddy loves you, Pixie!

Day 246: My American Girl

A shot of my american girl, holding an early birthday present, her own American Girl.

Day 241: Thinking Pixie

Grabbed this shot of Pixie thinking and concentrating while doing her homework. She looks entirely too grown up.

Day 234: Pixie on the Stairs

A shot of Pixie on the stairs after her day at school.

Day 231: Pretzel Boy

Here’s A-Train doing his daily impersonation of a living pretzel. The boy is bound to get stuck one of these days.

Day 229: You Lookin’ at Me?

I just love this kid’s expressions.

Day 228: Brown-Eyed Girl

My beautiful brown-eyed girl.

Day 224: Cheer Hair

My daughter swinging in the backyard on a warm afternoon. I have no idea what you call those things in her hair, but her mother called it her “cheerleader hair”.

Day 223: Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

Momma told Alpha Son to help me with the burgers. I may have failed to tell him that sticking his head over a smoking grill is usually not the smartest thing to do.

Day 220: Frustration

Seeing the frustration on A-Train’s face in this photo makes me sad. I was just looking for another day’s shot when I found him in his room like this. The light from the window was just where I wanted it, so I had to take advantage of the moment before I could try to figure out what was wrong. We got everything worked out, even if I did make him wait for a bit while I took my shot.

Poor kid. Daddy loves ya, buddy.

Day 218: Sleeping Beauty

Pixie fell asleep on the couch, and I couldn’t help grabbing a couple of shots. I can’t believe my little girl is already in 1st Grade. Sigh.

Day 216: Cute Little Baker

Grabbed this shot while Pixie was making a cake with her Papa. She really makes a cute, little baker, doesn’t she?

Day 198: Hangin’ with Smurfette

Pixie used her garage sale income to purchase a Smurfy new friend from Build-A-Bear.

Day 197: Garage Sale Junior Employee

The kiddo realized he could make some money if he sold some of his video games in the garage sale. He didn’t smile the same when I informed him of the parental sales cut.

Day 192: iSon

I’ve read plenty of photography tips that mention finding natural frames for your subjects. I don’t guess an iPod Touch can be considered a”natural” frame, but I think I got the right idea.

Day 191: Little Red Ninja

I think Pixie found the perfect upgrade from Little Red Riding Hood. No wolf is gonna mess with a ninja.

Day 184: Son of Joker

My oldest son wearing face paint and striking a nice Joker pose

Pixie pulled her face paint kit out and Alpha Son got a variant of the Joker look done to him. I have to admit, the boy is starting to scare me a little bit.

Day 177: A Bloody Cute Smile

My son smiling for a portrait after pulling his tooth out

A-Train lost his second tooth in a little over a week, and gave me one of his trademark smiles. How can you not just love this kid?
