Day 194: SSD Upgrade Day
Here’s a shot of the OWC SSD kit I installed in my Mac Pro. The install was a bigger pain that I anticipated, but it’s been running great since I installed everything, so it was worth it.
Day 188: Memory Boost
This was a shot of the first upgrade I made to my Mac Pro this month. A nice little boost of RAM to give Aperture some room to breathe. It was actually pretty amazing how much of a difference this made.
Upgrades Done, But Not Quite Back to Normal
I’ve spent the last two weeks making some major upgrades to my 2006 Mac Pro. It’s been given a nice upgrade to 10GB of RAM, and it now boots off a nice SSD from OWC. While I was rearranging things, I also striped my two 1TB drives into a speedy 2TB RAID for my data to use.
Unfortunately, there have been a few issues that I’ve had to work through. So far, nothing catastrophic, just time consuming. In the end, I should have a much speedier, robuster, and more backupier machine. Yeah, made that word up.
Anyhow, I hope to start posting photos again starting tomorrow, barring any other setbacks.
